Artist's Statement

My point of departure as an artist lies at the interface between an objective medial documentation of reality and the analysis of it. The principal aim of this analysis is to bring out the correlation between

formal structures and subjective elements. My compositions do not refer to an objective vision of reality at all: they are luminous expansions thereof. Thematically my art refers to experience. It is a reflection of moments that resonate objectively as well as subjectively. The process is comparable to a seismological diary of temporal, spatial and existential primary experience.

Digital photographic technology and computer-aided picture processing are for me a means to an end, an intermediate step on the way to creating large-scale oil paintings.
